Since 2020, I’ve been listing out my making themes and goals for the year. Doing so keeps me focused on making the things I love, and it’s fun to look back over the year and see what I made and what didn’t make the cut.

2022 theme

Use Up What I Have

2021 was quite a year - an unexpected, rollercoaster ride of a year. So I’m planning to spice things up with a renewed focus on the projects where I have both the materials and patterns ready in my stash. Hopefully, I’ll be able to explore new techniques, try new materials, and find new ways to use the stash.

2022 Goals and Final Updates (last updated 1/8/2023):

In 2022, I hit most of my hobby goals.

I feel good that I completed both of my knitting and sewing goals, as those are the hobbies that take most of my making bandwidth.

I hit my knitting goal - knit 10 items - out of the park this year. I knit 27 items, including 8 adult garments and 13 wearable accessories (socks, hats, mittens, and fingerless gloves). And although my sewing slowed down (as it tends to do in the fall), I was still able to sew enough wearable items to hit my 2022 goal.

Knitting
