Since 2020, I’ve been listing out my making themes and goals for the year. Doing so keeps me focused on making the things I love, and it’s fun to look back over the year and see what I made and what didn’t make the cut.

2023 theme

Ambitious Plans

This year I want to push myself to complete more ambitious projects whilst also filling in my wardrobe gaps.

I’ve noticed that my work wardrobe is always in need of skirts, dresses, shirts, and cardigans. And my daily wardrobe is always in need of gloves, mittens, fingerless mitts, and socks.

I also want to make items for upcoming events and to plan ahead for Christmas 2023.

My making goals for this year are (last updated 12/5/2023):

Knitting

  • Complete 10 knitting projects || Completed 5-6-2023 ||

    • Knit FOs: 3 Cardigans; 3 sweaters/tops (1 of which is made from handspun yarn); 4 wearable accessories (socks, hats, fingerless mitts, etc.)

    • Reach Goal FOs: Glitter cardigan (WIP); Hitofude cardigan; Maja cardigan

Sewing

  • Complete 10 garments

    • Sew FOs: 3 dresses (1 of which is a formal dress); 2 pants; 3 skirts; 2 shirts

      • Rose Cafe Dress 1 & 2 || Completed in 2023 ||

Weaving

Spinning

  • Finish plying white yarn on spinning wheel (chain ply) || Completed: 5-19-2023 ||

Events

  • Event dress made — by March 31st || Completed in 2023 ||

  • Me Made May participation — begins May 1st // Not this year. //

  • Birthday outfit make — by July 1st // Not this year. //

  • Submit at least one handmade item to the AK State Fair — end of July // Save for 2024 //
